Jae-i continued, “I couldn’t find the exact medicine because it’s peak season. But I got something stronger.” Seul-gi hesitated. “I don’t trust you,” she said. “Take it back.” Jae-i gave her an ultimatum. “If you do better than me on the exams, I’ll tell you where I got your past details,” she said. Then, she handed Seul-gi some notes. “You won’t be able to prepare for exams without my help,” she added, almost teasing.
A Dangerous Path Begins
Meanwhile, Joo Ye-ri visited a bar. She handed a business card to the owner. “I need money for my college entrance exams,” she said. “I need a job.” Back in her room, Seul-gi stared at the stronger medicine. She hesitated. Then, she took it. A haze of emotions washed over her. Everything felt different. But this wasn’t stability. It was something far more dangerous.
