In The Haunted Palace episode 11, it takes a sharp turn. So much happened, and nothing felt safe anymore. The story is now running deep into secrets, betrayals, and real emotions. Characters are finally seeing what’s been hidden all along.
The 8-foot spirit ran away after throwing powder at Kang Chul. In the middle of all this chaos, he found Yeori inside a cupboard. She was tied up, scared, but alive. Kang Chul rushed to the king with shaman tools. He wanted to prove something big & told the king that Pung San—also known as Aguji—was the blind shaman behind everything. He was controlling the terrifying 8-foot general spirit.
Yeori couldn’t stop thinking. Why did Pung San say she was bait? Why leave her alive if she was part of the plan? Questions kept coming. Meanwhile, the king felt hopeless. He admitted something huge—he believed he could never defeat the 8-foot spirit. It’s been haunting his family for generations, and he finally broke down.
That night, Kang Chul helped Bibi to eat evil noblemen. But Yeori stepped in. She reminded him that he was inside Yoon Gab’s body. Taking lives wasn’t the path of a divine being. Bibi listened silently. Later, she overheard Kang Chul speaking with the monk. The monk revealed something chilling. The glowing pearl inside Kang Chul was the only way to defeat the 8-foot spirit. But that would mean Kang Chul must die.
Elsewhere, the king had a painful meeting with the dowager queen. He told her the truth—that the shaman she trusted actually served an evil spirit. Her son died because of this blind faith. The queen broke down. Guilt crushed her.
Hidden Deals and Shocking Moves
While everything was falling apart, the wicked noblemen Lord Kim Bong decided to finish the shaman. They said he had failed too many times. But right before they could act, the 8-foot spirit took control of the shaman’s body. He threatened the nobles. He demanded a safe place to hide the shaman. Without the shaman, he warned, the nobles would never dethrone the king.
Back at the palace, the king and Yeori made a big discovery. The spirit wasn’t after every royal. Only those in the Yeojong bloodline were targeted. The spirit’s last breath was in Yongdam village. That was during a war. A brave man fought there, and his name lived on through generations. Yeori asked who his descendant was. It turned out to be Lord Choi Won Woo. The king decided to visit him.
At the same time, Bibi was upset. Kang Chul was holding back because of Yeori. He didn’t kill the noblemen. In frustration, Bibi shouted that Kang Chul would die if he kept choosing Yeori. Yeori overheard this, and it changed things. Bibi sensed a trap set by the shaman and attacked. After eating the trapped noblemen, the shaman appeared. He admitted he set it all up just to serve Bibi. But he wanted something in return—Yeori. He offered Bibi a deal. Bring Yeori to the shrine. Kang Chul would be saved. Bibi would get more souls.
Later, a quiet and tender moment passed between Yeori and Kang Chul. She told him he was her warding stone. Yeori didn’t need anything else. She kissed him and said she didn’t confuse him with Yoon Gab. This was real.
Betrayal at the Shrine
Yeori planned something bold. She needed to summon Hwadeok Chasa—the spirit of death. Bibi agreed but said they needed one thing first: the 8-foot spirit’s ID tag. To help Kang Chul, Bibi lured Yeori to the underground shrine. Once there, Pung Su trapped her inside. Bibi told her the harsh truth—because of her, Kang Chul’s sacrifice would be wasted.
Kang Chul couldn’t sleep. He stepped outside and spotted a suspicious servant with a knife. He followed him. It was a setup. Kang Chul walked into the shrine and saw Yeori trapped. He was shocked. Bibi and the shaman stood in front of him. Bibi betrayed him. A fight broke out. But Kang Chul didn’t want to fight Bibi.
Yeori shouted at them to stop. Fighting would drain their powers. That’s exactly what the evil spirit wanted. In the chaos, the spirit entered the shaman’s body and threw an iron rod. Kang Chul was the target. But Bibi took the hit. He was stabbed.
The spirit destroyed Bibi’s pearl and devoured his soul. Now, the spirit is stronger than ever. In his last moment, Bibi revealed a secret. The king’s maternal grandfather, Lord Kim Bong, had been helping the shaman all along. Then, he died in Kang Chul’s arms.
In the preview, Yeori tells the king the truth. But the king doesn’t believe her. He traps both Kang Chul and Yeori. They head to Yongdam village together. But they’re attacked. And Lord Choi? He’s hiding something, too.
