Soon after, she visits Min-cheol. She brings up Hwa-jin’s pregnancy and says, “What if people find out the baby is yours?” Her words hit him hard. She then calls it her final move.
Soo-yeon reveals her own past as an illegitimate child and uses it as a shield. Her goal is clear: stop the special law. The scene ends heavy, with both pain and power in the air.
Episode 8: What Truths Remain
Episode 8 keeps the pressure up. Min-cheol confronts Soo-yeon about the secrets she hides. He asks if she really exposed all this just to stop the law. She says yes.

But Hae-rin says time is over. She looks serious and tense. She later calls Son Min-joo, a journalist friend, to hint about stolen jewelry linked to the presidential candidate’s property list. Her tone turns cunning. She knows how to make a story sound bigger.
They talk about whether the stolen item was officially registered. If not, it could become a serious scandal. Hae-rin connects it all back to Lee Hwa-jin and the necklace. Every clue now circles the same object that started it all.
At the same time, lawyer Kang Sun-ho confronts Soo-yeon. He says the promise she made with Hwa-jin has no legal power. She doesn’t care. She tells him that keeping Hwa-jin’s trust matters more. Her plan sounds manipulative but also smart. She’s not lying—she’s just bending things her way.
Kang warns that releasing Sun Woo-young only needs one petition. Soo-yeon says no. The divorce case must stop first. She makes it clear that she’s in control. Her tone turns icy. She reminds him of who he works for.
Every scene ends with someone losing ground. No one feels safe anymore. Each character hides something, and those secrets are now pushing them to break.
