Genie, Make A Wish Episode 12 Recap: Iblis Fights Fate in the Final Battle

Genie, Make A Wish Episode 12 (4)

In Genie, Make A Wish Episode 12, Iblis begins with a quiet confession. Iblis tells Ka Young that he remembers everything. He admits his arrogance. He says he fulfilled Muttaib’s wish but lost her.

Ka Young stays calm and tells him that they cannot change the past. She says they cannot control the future either. She reminds him that it’s better to live in the present. Her words sound simple, but they cut deep.

Yeong Hyeon and Da Jin have their own mess. He gets angry because Da Jin forgot about their YouTube channel. Earlier, he had wished that she would forget everything about wishes.

That wish worked. She deleted the channel and even changed the password. During the argument, she remembers that she once saved the password using their anniversary date.

That moment touches Yeong Hyeon deeply. He recalls how much effort she put into keeping things alive. He tells her that her father will get better soon. Her father has cancer, and that pain sits heavily on both of them.

Ka Young returns to the village. Min Ji slowly starts connecting the dots. She realizes that Mi Ju is actually her grandmother. She also begins to sense that Iblis is not human. Iblis takes everyone into the lamp to hide from Khalid’s men. It’s quiet inside the lamp, but danger grows outside.

Ppopi, the dog who once wished to become human, whispers something to his old owner’s child. He reminds him of a lost toy. The chauffeur who once took care of Ppopi still doesn’t know why he got rich suddenly. He just decides to wait for the rightful owner.

Choices, Deals, and the Power of Wishes

Shadi faces a dark decision. He refuses to sing because his voice can make the world fall asleep. Khalid plans to use that power. He wants to trap Iblis when everyone sleeps. Shadi doesn’t want that. But when Khalid’s men start killing innocent people, he breaks. He agrees to sing.

Meanwhile, Ka Young empties her safe. She gives all her money to Bu Gyeong. She asks Bu Gyeong to return Bu Yeong’s last wish. Bu Gyeong doesn’t believe her at first.

Ka Young tells her that if she refuses, she will use her own last wish to undo everything. That scares Bu Gyeong. She finally agrees and takes the deal.

Iblis talks to Ka Young about souls. He says out of five souls, only two came out pure — Yeong Hyeon, who wished for Da Jin’s father, and Ppopi, who wished selflessly.

Bu Yeong counts as half, since she made her wish for Ka Young but expected something in return. Ka Young and Iblis tie their bond according to her first wish challenge.

Irem collects Iblis’s lamp on Ejieal’s order. Khalid injures his own ear to stay awake during the chaos. He doesn’t want Shadi’s song to affect him. Then Khalid captures Iblis.

He uses the thread of fate to tie him up. He frees Shadi but kills him instantly after. Ka Young is captured next. She screams and curses at them. Then, suddenly, she disappears into thin air.

The Final Fight and Ka Young’s Loss

Bu Yeong uses her third wish. Ka Young instructs her to say the curse word that will take her to Iblis. It works. She reaches the cage where Iblis is trapped. Ka Young frees him and tells him to use the same string of fate against Khalid. She reminds him that Khalid is half-spirit, too.

Irem hands the lamp to Khalid. Khalid realizes Ka Young still has one wish left. Otherwise, the lamp would have vanished. That detail shocks him.

Iblis rushes to Zahara Garden with his sword.  He plans to cut the immortal flower. Ejieal appears and stops him. He warns that if Iblis destroys the flower, all his efforts will mean nothing.

Ejieal says Ka Young’s last wish will be righteous and that it will drag Iblis into hell. Iblis accepts that fate. He says he only wants her to wish good things for others and live peacefully, even if it means he suffers.

The true power of this ending lies in its quiet resolution. After the cacophony of battles and wishes, peace is found not in a grand new desire, but in the acceptance of the present moment—exactly what Ka Young advocated for from the beginning.

The story ultimately argues that while wishes can change the world, it is our choices, our sacrifices, and our ability to live with the consequences that truly define our souls. The final silence isn’t empty; it’s filled with the hard-won wisdom earned by every character.

The fight between Iblis and Ejieal turns brutal. Khalid sneaks inside the lamp. He tries to lure the grandmother out. She steps outside and gets caught by Wahid.

Sayyid attacks Khalid in rage and bites him. Min Ji and Pan Geum try to escape but get surrounded by Khalid’s men. Khalid stabs Sayyid in the neck. Sayyid collapses.

A gunshot follows. One of Khalid’s men fires at Min Ji. Pan Geum takes the bullet instead. The blooming flowers nearby signal something tragic. It reminds everyone of what Ejieal once said — Ka Young will die when her flower blooms on the tree.

Sayyid gets up one last time and kills one of the attackers before dying for real. Iblis feels that pain deeply during his fight. Khalid’s men drag Ka Young and throw Pan Geum’s body in front of her.

The villagers arrive just in time. The village chief leads them. They remember Ka Young’s words — when birds die, rescue them. That phrase becomes a sign.

The villagers fight back bravely. They fire at Khalid’s men. Ejieal falls weak on the ground and asks Iblis why he won’t kill him. Iblis says Ejieal must slit his own throat to end his curse.

Khalid grabs Ka Young and chokes her. He orders her to use her last wish to make him the new master of Iblis. In that tense moment, Iblis swings his sword and cuts the immortal flower. Khalid turns into ashes. The curse breaks.

Iblis runs to Ka Young. She looks broken but alive. Her grandmother, Pan Geum, is gone. The village holds a funeral for her. The sky turns soft. Flowers bloom again.

Ending

The story ends with silence. The fight, the loss, and the wishes — all come together in one still moment.
