South Korean actress Kim Sae-Ron was found deceased at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on February 16, 2025, at the age of 24. A friend, who had planned to meet her that day, discovered her body and alerted the authorities. Police have stated that there are no immediate signs of foul play and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
Kim Sae-Ron began her acting career at the age of nine, gaining prominence through her roles in films such as “A Brand New Life” (2009) and “The Man From Nowhere” (2010). She continued to build a successful career with notable performances in “The Neighbor” and the Netflix series “Bloodhounds.”
In May 2022, Kim was involved in a drunk driving incident in Seoul’s Cheongdam-dong district, where she crashed into a transformer, causing a power outage affecting numerous businesses. She was subsequently fined 20 million won for the offense.
Following the incident, she faced significant public scrutiny and took a hiatus from her acting career. Despite efforts to return, including filming for the movie “Guitar Man” in late 2024, her comeback was hindered by health issues.
Her former agency, Gold Medalist, with whom she was affiliated from January 2020 to December 2022, expressed their condolences, stating, “We pray for the deceased’s soul to rest in peace.” The entertainment industry and fans alike mourn the loss of the young actress, reflecting on her contributions to Korean cinema and television
