In DEAR X episode 6, the episode opens with quiet tension. Ji-sun steps into Joon-seo’s house. The mood shifts fast. She freezes when she sees Ah-jin inside. Ah-jin is calm. She is wearing Joon-seo’s shirt. Ji-sun feels something snap inside her.
Ah-jin claims she is here because Ji-sun keeps messing with her work. That pushes Ji-sun over the edge. She hits Ah-jin. The fight grows sharp and loud. Joon-seo rushes in and tears them apart before it gets worse.
At work, Ah-jin films a romantic scene with In-gang. The tone on set is smooth, but something heavy sits under the surface. After the shoot, In-gang asks for privacy. He opens up about his past.
He explains his band days. His path to fame was not clean. One moment changed everything. His junior, Ji-hyeok, ate a macaron with nuts.
He had a bad reaction. Because of that incident, In-gang got an MC chance, and success followed. The truth burns him. He knew the macaron had nuts. He said nothing. Ji-hyeok still sends him kind messages.
Those messages cut deeper each time. He sees Ah-jin’s ambition and tells her she can rise without dirty tricks. His eyes show fear and guilt mixed together.
Dark Secrets Unfold
That night, Ah-jin receives a call from Detective Park. He wants her to meet him. The tone is threatening. He hints at revealing her past. She follows the address and reaches a VIP room in a club. The place is dark, loud, and dangerous.
People are drugged and leaning on each other. The sight is cold. Detective Park calls again. He tells her this is her future. He wants to destroy her. She leaves fast, but In-gang spots her on the way out. She cannot explain. His eyes narrow with confusion.
Jae-oh, meanwhile, starts a new job with a man who does background checks. His first task is to dig into Detective Park. Jae-oh follows Park and clones his phone. Fear shakes him when he overhears a call. Park speaks to a reporter.
He claims Ah-jin killed her father. Jae-oh panics and calls Joon-seo. Joon-seo clears it up. Ah-jin did not kill her father. Detective Park tried to frame her. Their voices grow firm. They decide to work together.
Jae-oh arrives at Joon-seo’s house. He and Ah-jin reunite. Their energy feels warm for the first time in a long while. They laugh at small things, almost like old friends. Joon-seo watches them. A small ache shows in his eyes.
After Ah-jin leaves, Jae-oh asks why Joon-seo let them meet when he knows his feelings for her. Joon-seo says she might have a normal life with someone like Jae-oh. His voice sounds steady, but his face says something heavier.
NEW SECRETS
The two men then look deeper into In-gang. His life is marked by guilt, depression, and alcohol. He lost his parents early and clings to his grandmother. Jae-oh steals his diary and gives it to Ah-jin. She reads about a temple that the grandmother visits and decides to go there.
Ah-jin moves Hyang-i into a new apartment. The building is in the same complex as In-gang’s grandmother. She uses a simple excuse: giving out rice cakes for Hyang-i.
The grandmother recognizes Ah-jin from the temple. She invites her in and offers food prepared for a memorial ceremony. The scene feels gentle, but there is tension in Ah-jin’s mind.
When In-gang finds out, he loses control and drags Ah-jin outside. He tells her to stay away from him. She fires back, & she says he keeps himself miserable.
She calls him a coward. Her words hit him hard. Back home, Joon-seo asks about her plan. Ah-jin says she needs In-gang to reach the top. There is no hesitation in her voice.
In-Gang Faces the Truth
After the memorial, even the grandmother tells In-gang to stop pushing people away. When he reaches his car, he breaks down. Tears fall fast. He cracks open for a moment; he cannot hide. Nearby, Ah-jin watches from her hidden camera.
Her next step is bold. She arranges for one of In-gang’s meetings to take place at Ji-hyeok’s café. Ji-hyeok speaks honestly. He says he knew the macaron had nuts.
Ji-hyeok knew In-gang knew too. He says he wanted to quit music anyway. Ji-hyeok lets In-gang release the guilt. He also reveals that Ah-jin asked him to talk. The truth shakes In-gang.
He rushes to Mi-ri. He tells her he wants to stay away from Ah-jin, & he also wants to finalize his breakup with Le-na. His voice is tired but steady.
Jae-oh and Joon-seo take their own risk. They kidnap Detective Park. They threaten him with a report about his daughter doing drugs in the US. Detective Park folds fast.
He texts Reporter Lim and says there is no story. The men then find out the reporter is Le-na’s cousin. Le-na hired him to dig up dirt on Ah-jin.
THE FINAL TURN
In-gang’s grandmother meets Ah-jin again. She apologizes for In-gang’s behavior. She asks why Ah-jin cried during the memorial. Ah-jin mentions her mother’s favorite dish. It matches one of the grandmother’s favorite dishes from her diary. The moment feels quiet and real.
Later, In-gang apologizes to Ah-jin. He asks her to meet him for dinner. She agrees. But she also calls Jae-oh. She wants him to delay In-gang. Jae-oh creates a small accident with In-gang’s car.
He even drops In-gang’s phone in a gutter. It slows In-gang down. He takes a cab and then runs the rest of the way.
Ah-jin waits at the table until she cannot wait anymore. She stands to leave. In-gang arrives just in time to see her. He looks moved. She wraps her scarf around him. The air shifts. He leans in and kisses her.
Elsewhere, Joon-seo drinks with Le-na. When two men insult Ah-jin, he cannot stay still. He fights them and loses badly. Le-na tries to get him to respond. The screen holds on his bleeding face. The episode ends with uncertainty pulling tight around him.
