Episode 12 Brings More Drama
Da-rim hands in her resignation letter. She tells Ji-hyuk she can’t continue anymore. He rejects her resignation immediately.
Da-rim explains she needs to work multiple part-time jobs now. Her mom is out of the hospital. She needs to pay back loans and borrowed money.
Ji-hyuk shows her the interview evaluations. Everyone with good qualifications got rejected. Only people with the lowest scores got hired. The company never wanted a real team.
Da-rim realizes people were right about them being a throwaway team. Ji-hyuk admits he thought the same thing initially. But one person never gave up on the team. That person was Da-rim.
Ji-hyuk tells her she created this team. She didn’t steal anyone’s spot. She brought a team that would’ve disappeared to where it is now. He asks her to stay until the others become permanent employees.

Da-rim tells her team the truth about her fake marriage. They cry hearing her story. She promises to help them become permanent employees. She’ll keep working on their project.
The team asks about the Da-rim & Ji-Hyuk relationship at dinner. Da-rim can’t say anything. Her teammates cheer them on anyway.

Tae-young confronts Ji-hyuk about past incidents. He accuses Ji-hyuk of stealing his business contacts. Ji-hyuk admits he wasn’t really sorry. He says Tae-young wouldn’t have gotten those deals anyway. People can sense who will help them grow and who will consume them.
Ha-yeong attends Jun’s school play. Seon-u is late because of a photo shoot. Jun stands alone on stage. Ha-yeong steps in to help him. Seon-u arrives late and sees her filling his spot.

Mi-ok discovers Ha-yeong’s feelings for Seon-u. She confronts him and sees how caring he is. He puts a patch on her injured wrist. This touches Mi-ok. She gives him money before leaving.
Da-rim works hard on product development. A week before launch, a competitor releases an identical product. Everything matches from materials to functions.
