In Our Movie Episode 9, Lee Je-ha didn’t expect things to fall apart this fast. Neither did Lee Da-eum. Episode 9 of Our Movie didn’t hold back. What started as a quiet film set suddenly turned into chaos. A scandal broke out. A truth came out. Trust began to crumble.
Photos leaked online. They showed Da-eum entering Je-ha’s room. One even showed them together at the hospital. The timing was no accident. These pictures were sent by Da-eum’s former friend, Nam Jae-in. She felt jealous. So she exposed them. Not because of justice, but out of spite.
Back on set, tension grew. Producer Boo Seung-won already knew Da-eum was sick. He hid it. He even planned to use her illness to bring in money. Han Sung-ho also knew. He didn’t stop him. Both thought the illness could help with investments. Je-ha found out. He didn’t take it well.
Je-ha stood in front of the crew and spoke up. “Yes, I like Da-eum,” he said. “But that had nothing to do with her audition. She earned the part.” The team looked stunned. And then, Da-eum dropped the real news. “I’m terminal,” she said, her voice calm but shaky. “I’m a real patient pretending to act like one.”
Love, Guilt, and the Film’s Ending Begin to Blur
Je-ha didn’t know how to explain his guilt. “At first, I didn’t care,” he said. “If she died, she died. But now? I can’t breathe when I think about her being in pain.” It hit him late. But it hit hard. He realized he wasn’t just a director anymore. He was in love.
The question now: was this real love? Or sympathy dressed as care? Chae Seo-young wasn’t convinced. She accused Je-ha. “Are you sure this isn’t pity?” she asked him. “Do you even know what you’re feeling?” Je-ha said he did. But Seo-young wasn’t buying it. She didn’t hide her anger. “I won’t support you,” she told him flat out. Her tone wasn’t cold. It was broken, frustrated, and honest.

Meanwhile, the production faced a serious risk. Han Seong-ho pushed for Je-ha’s removal. He wanted a new director. Investors were nervous. Viewers wanted the truth. Everyone looked to the two leads—Je-ha and Da-eum.
Behind all this, Je-ha kept reading the script his late mother wrote. It haunted him. Why did she end the story the way she did? He wanted to change the ending. “Maybe love can last,” he said. “Maybe it doesn’t need to be sad.” Da-eum asked him, “Can the ending really change?” And he replied, “Let’s leave it open.”
They knew the time was running out. They didn’t need to say it. Da-eum told Je-ha, “Can I really like you? Even if I’m dying?” Je-ha hugged her. “Let’s live this moment,” he whispered. It wasn’t about forever. It was just about now.
Drama Stays Offscreen, But Cuts Deep
Behind the scenes, Boo Seung-won wasn’t innocent either. Je-ha found out that he had leaked a private video of Da-eum talking about her illness. He did it to secure funds. Je-ha felt betrayed, even though he’d once agreed. It was a mistake he couldn’t undo.
He opened up, “I’ve lived too carefully. Like someone hiding from pain. But maybe getting hurt is part of living. I want to feel it.” That moment was raw. Not scripted. Not polished. Just honest.
In the end, Je-ha stood in front of everyone again. This time, not as a director, but as someone broken and real. “We’re not faking anything,” he said. “Yes, we’re close. Yes, she’s sick. But that’s not why I cast her.” Da-eum stood by him. Quiet but strong.
This episode didn’t focus on big twists. It focused on truth. Messy, uncomfortable truth. It questioned power, fairness, love, and how far people go for survival. Not everyone may agree with the choices made here. Some might even dislike Je-ha’s guilt-driven confessions. But that’s what makes Our Movie episode 9 feel real. People aren’t perfect. Feelings don’t follow scripts. And the story isn’t finished yet.
