Squid Game Season 3: What to Expect from the Final Chapter

Squid Game Season 3

Netflix has officially confirmed the release date for Squid Game Season 3. The final chapter of the hit series will arrive on June 27. While the number of episodes is still uncertain, director Hwang Dong-hyeok previously mentioned that the entire season would have 22 episodes. Season 1 had nine episodes, and Season 2 had seven, so Season 3 is likely to include six episodes to complete the story.

The first look at Season 3 has been revealed through posters and official stills. The images hint at intense moments and major character developments. Ki-hoon (Lee Jung-jae) appears furious after losing his friend Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan). Young-il (Lee Byung-hun), who took part in the deadly games in Season 2, is back but in a different role. He now stands as the frontman, adding another layer to the storyline.

The new stills also show Pink Guard No-eul (Park Gyu-young) removing her mask outside the game room. Other returning characters include Hyun-joo (Park Sung-hoon), Yong-sik (Yang Dong-geun), Geum-ja (Kang Ae-sim), and Jun-hee (Jo Yu-ri). They are seen mourning their fallen comrades after a rebellion, indicating even more struggles ahead. Another detail catching attention is the large shadow of Cheol-soo, a figure seen with Young-hee in the cookie video at the end of Season 2.

He also teased that Season 3 will take the series to its most shocking point yet. The final season will explore whether Ki-hoon, weighed down by guilt and anger, completely loses faith in humanity.
