The Queen Who Crowns Episode 11 Recap: Won-Gyeong Loses Another Brother

The Queen Who Crowns Episode 11

tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama The Queen Who Crowns episode 11, Won-gyeong (played by Cha Joo-young) suffered another devastating loss because of Bang-won (played by Lee Hyun-wook). Her younger siblings were executed, leaving her in unbearable grief. Meanwhile, Park Yong-woo’s character, Lee Suk-beon, failed in his attempt to gain control over the crown prince.

Won-gyeong believed that Prince Chungnyeong, not Prince Yangnyeong (played by Moon Seong-Hyeon), would eventually become king. Bang-won also noticed Lee Do’s dedication to famine relief, a sharp contrast to Lee Je, who was only focused on hunting. However, Bang-won made his stance clear by giving Lee Do a note, hinting that a prince without a throne should enjoy music instead.

At the same time, Kim Sang-gung (played by Kim Jung) visited Chae-ryeong (played by Lee Yi-dam), who had been removed from the palace. Chae-ryeong tried to use a past incident against Kim Sang-gung, mentioning that she had once placed a harmful substance in Won-gyeong’s bathwater. However, without evidence, Kim Sang-gung ignored the threat. Won-gyeong later sent Jeong Sang-gung (played by So Hee-jung) to meet Chae-ryeong, stating that a mother should handle wedding matters. Hearing this, Chae-ryeong shed tears and returned to the palace.

Political Power Struggles and Betrayals

Lee Suk-beon saw the Min family as a problem that needed to be eliminated. He believed that Bang-won did not fully trust him, so he planned an attack on the crown prince. The crown prince then informed Bang-won about the mistreatment he had suffered at the hands of his maternal uncles. Won-gyeong suggested resolving the situation by exiling Min Mu-hyul and Min Mu-hoe.

However, things took a turn when Kyo-ha-daek (played by Hwang Yeong-hee) revealed that the Min family had attempted to kill Prince Gyeongnyeong and his son. Upon hearing this, Bang-won ordered the immediate capture of Min Mu-hyul and Min Mu-hoe. Despite their denials, they were tortured and eventually executed.

Won-gyeong was devastated and insisted that her family was innocent. Ha-ryun (played by Choi Deok-moon) countered her claims, revealing that he had witnessed Prince Yeo-won humiliating the crown prince. He suggested that this incident may have been used as an excuse to justify harsher actions. When Bang-won tried to comfort Won-gyeong, she refused, stating that the king should focus on his responsibilities. She endured her pain in silence.

Jeong Sang-gung advised Won-gyeong to take care of herself, but her response was filled with sorrow. She reminded Jeong Sang-gung that the king had executed all her siblings. Seo Sang-gung (played by Jeong Eui-soon) sympathized with her, admitting that if she were in her position, she would hold resentment. However, Won-gyeong refused to express hatred.

Bang-won Takes Action Against Lee Suk-beon

Chae-ryeong later informed Won-gyeong that the crown prince had received the black-horned palace from Lee Suk-beon. When Bang-won learned about this, he reacted immediately. He ordered the destruction of the black-horned palace, stripped Lee Suk-beon of his title, and exiled him. As Lee Suk-beon was being dragged away, Won-gyeong coldly told him that he would never see His Majesty again.

Won-gyeong then confronted Bang-won. She warned him not to ignore the truth about the crown prince’s weaknesses. She believed that the crown prince was unfit to rule and urged Bang-won to remove him before it was too late. Bang-won hesitated, calling such actions cruel. Won-gyeong reminded him that past kings had made painful choices for the sake of the kingdom. She questioned whether he would hesitate if the crown prince’s actions led to disaster.

Won-gyeong and Bang-won were left in deep sorrow as they faced yet another loss.
