Song Mino, a well-known K-pop artist, is facing accusations of neglecting his duties during his alternative service. According to a report on the 17th (KST), several whistleblowers have come forward, claiming that Song has been absent from his post at the Mapo Facilities Management Corporation.
The allegations are based on observations made in the second week of November when Dispatch monitored the facility’s entrance from morning to evening. The report suggests that Song Mino was not seen during this period, leading to further doubts about his attendance. Other employees at the facility reportedly confirmed this, saying, “We haven’t seen him either.”
One anonymous source added more details, mentioning a previous incident involving Song’s attire. At the time, a representative from the Military Manpower Administration visited the facility and only pointed out Song’s hairstyle. There were rumors that Song had been at home when he received an urgent phone call and rushed to the facility afterward.
Another whistleblower raised concerns about the fairness of the situation, saying, “Even in alternative service, one must fulfill their national duty. Is it fair for a celebrity to be absent for nearly a year and still complete their service? We urge authorities to verify if proper attendance and work duties are being met.”
Song Mino began his alternative service on March 24, 2023, at the Mapo Facilities Management Corporation. In March of this year, they reassigned him to a resident convenience facility. They expect him to be discharged in just a few days, on the 23rd of December.

Claims of Absences and Medical Leave
According to L, a supervisor at the Mapo Convenience Facility, there were times when Song Mino was resting in a nearby room. They also noted that he would occasionally take time off using his leave or step out for hospital visits. In some cases, they kept the artist in a separate room to avoid exposure, as people would often come looking for him. They also mentioned that Song Mino faces some physical and mental health difficulties.
YG Entertainment, Song’s agency, has addressed the claims, stating, “It is difficult to provide details regarding the artist’s service. However, we clarify that his medical leave stems from ongoing treatment that began prior to his service. All other leaves and absences were used in accordance with regulations.”
